Is it a big deal if your crush notices that you dyed your hair?

I last saw my crush on Friday at work, and on Saturday I had my hair coloured. Nothing drastic, just a wee bit darker. I am a brunette and I went a shade or so darker.
I put a post up on my Instagram about it, more so to show off how much it has grown and how lovely it looks. Me and my crush are following each other on Instagram.

I saw him today at work, and he looked at me and then said, “have you dyed your hair?”

And then I said “yeah, do you like it?” to which he said “yeah”

Is it a big deal? I am under the assumption that guys don’t tend to notice or comment on these sorts of things unless they are attracted to the girl

Be honest, do you think it would’ve been polite if he’d said no? I’m sure it looks nice but even if it didn’t, he’d never want to be so rude as to tell you that to your face, which is why I don’t think it’s a good way to indicate whether or not he likes you. Then you made a post about your hair, asking if you dyed it was most likely his way of addressing that. Of course I could be wrong, our opinions are not facts, it’s just an observation.

How would you have ignored, deflected or diverted such a direct comment? When I try thinking of how I’d counter someone asking if I liked something, it would be hard since I am the one who just commented on it. Kind of like if I said to someone “hey did you get a new pair of glasses?” then they said “yeah do you like them?”, I don't know how I’d not address that, you know? I do think he saw your post and was making a comment about it, but of course there’s always the potential for it to mean something else.

In my case I don't use to say anything to a girl who has already dyed her hair unless I like the change and I get on with her, because I find offensive to say her I don't like it and I find intrusive to say her I like it.

In the other hand, I think it's a mistake, but I often feel when a girl dyes her hair to blonde from natural brunette that it's a way to make know she is distancing from me.
