Why do guys feel the need to make me self conscious?

This guy yesterday went out of his way to make it clear he doesn’t find me attractive. Like, okay — we’re not dating, so what’s the issue? I’m attractive; I’m just not that 'baddie' type, and once again, I’m being reminded of it. But honestly, why should I have to be? It’s not even the first time this has happened — another guy once asked me, 'What, no filters?'

He went out of his way? How? He jumped off a moving train, then ran through oncoming traffic, finally jumping over a pit of fire to tell you this? I don’t think he really went out of his way. Women tend to interpret things much worse than they really are. Was this just some random dude who walked up to you, said you weren’t attractive? This needs more context. Women always want men to be honest w them but when we are now we’re mean, cruel, rude, assholes, dicks, etc, etc.
