This is what he said after I apologized about being on him about his job and being snippy and that I wouldn't do it again.

Its not just the shit from this weekend I just haven't said anything because I thought i could deal with it but I can't I understand that I piss you off but when I try to give you a kiss goodbye and tell you I love you to go kill myself out there i guess that was just my breaking point I just need some time to myself to figure out what I want in my life and I hope you can understand that.

What does this mean? I asked him if it meant we are breaking up and he said he didn't know yet.

It is simple.

He needs a time off from you because he has the feeling that you are on his case and he has enough of being picked on by you.

In other words, a time off usually means the end of a relationship. He knows perfectly well that he is not going to take that kind of treatment anymore from you but he should have been honest enough to tell you in your face that the relationship is over.

Saying that he needs time off is equivalent to stating that the relation has reached its breaking point. It's a different way of putting it but the end result is the same unless things change drastically.
