Have you been disappointed/disgusted by the behavior of a supposedly 'solid' family man, when it came to his Machismo?

I have. Had an acquaintance who was Pres. of our flying/skydiving club, who projected the husband/father/ family image of a guy with solid ethics, and morality towards young women that his son (s) went out with and seemed to respect adult women also.

One evening at his home with his wife not around, he quietly tells us men: "I think my son got his first P of A, last night"

Hardly the language I might have expected from him if the DAUGHTER were his, and the shit comment about her coming from another garbage mouth father whose macho son had "just gotten his first P of A' from HIS daughter

. Funny how some people's true character comes out when they think someone will be impressed and when the sexual shoe is on someone else's foot.

I used to work with a man who was one of the Elders at his church. He was married to a very nice lady and they had a son. They lived in a beautiful house 🏡.
But I was his secretary and it was my job to open all of the mail for our department and put each associates mail in their in box.
One day I opened his mail and it was pornography on disks of oriental women. There was a paper advertisement included with the disks to order more of them.
I also found his drawer full of empty cigarette packs when I was looking for something in his desk. None of us knew he smoked.
Our boss found all of this stuff in his desk while he was on vacation.
She called him at home and told him to come into the office. She fired him on the spot.
He portrayed to be this holier than thou in front of everyone.
I smoked cigarettes but I did it in front of everyone.

Not having any children I'm not very qualified to comment but I can imagine a proud father being interested in his son's development and firsts. If all present were friends and don't know the girl or her dad it seems harmless talk among the guys. Im not privy to all the information you have on the subject so I leave it up to you.

I just don't idealize people... humans are very much, human...

the more you see someone as an example of "perfect" the more you set yourself for disappointment

also... I am the first and most aware of my own flaws so, I don't feel like being that judgy on others... lol

He made a bad comment but don't condemn him just because of this, everyone makes mistakes, if he overall respects women I think you can view him as a generally good person.
