Why do guys tell me I'm beautiful but they never seem to show interest?

my male supervisor called me a beautiful young lady with huge emphasis but he didn't show any interest in me. Similar thing happened a long time ago where a janitor gave me a first bump, told me I was "so pretty" but he never asked for my number. Very rarely do guys show interest in me. I've also had other old people tell me the same thing but young men seem to be interested

They ARE showing you interest. Giving you compliments is showing interest. Believe me, if you got no attention from guys, you'd know it, because you'd feel completely invisible (which is how the vast majority of men feel all the time).

When a guy gives you a compliment, he's waiting for YOU to show HIM a sign of interest in return. And that sign needs to be something more substantial than glancing at him for 1 second. He needs a sign that you are interested so that he knows if he continues to show interest, you aren't going to report him to HR or put him on blast online as a creep.

Even if you've never done that and would never do that, tons of your fellow females have done that, and they've ruined it for everyone. Guys used to approach and used to follow through, but they got shamed and ridiculed and in some cases had their entire careers ended because some woman with a big mouth decided he wasn't attractive enough and so she destroyed him for fun. And, so, guys virtually across the board have stepped WAY back, and now you, as a woman, have to PROVE some interest in return, or no guy is going to continue.

If you have a complain about this, take it to your nearest raging Feminist. This is the world they built.

if you get ANY attention from a man that isn't strictly business, then he's showing you interest. You need to be prepared to show some in return, and if you can't or won't, expect them to walk away and never return, because that's what they've been taught to do, with extremely high consequences for any man who didn't get the message.

when my boss (the dude who called me beautiful young lady with huge intonation) was having a conversation with me, his voice was dull, didn't seem like he wanted to impress me. He just giving be plain career advice on what degree I should get, with no effort for any personal small talk. Neither did he show any desire to get to know me or be friendly

Just the same way the other janitor just fist bumped me said two words to me "so pretty" then he exchanged a few words with my other coworkers next to me, then JUST LEFT casually. He didn't even try to stop to have a conversation with me. It looked like he just came over to actually talk to my coworkers than leave. He didn't even smile at me. He didn't linger around even for an extra second with me

Well, fine, in those examples, it was just small talk. That exists too. But assuming a guy complimented you and actually looked at you while doing so, then what I wrote applies.

my boss couldn't look at me when he spoke, there were coworkers blocking me from his line of vision. I don't think its right to just think a guy is interested in me just cuz he gave me a compliment

I feel invisible to men, honestly. I never get checked out. Not saying it has never happened before. But its rare.
I only get old people in their 50s-60s such as neighbors, old people at the nursing home, telling me beautiful. In this case, it was a young hispanic man in his 30s calling me it. But I get literally no interest from guys. Guys dont even look at me as they walk past me. When I go to bars, nobody approaches me. Not everyone will find me attractive. Beauty is in eye of the beholder but its crazy how people would just call me beautiful but never show ANY interest.

I feel like I don't have any options

You've had some people calling you beautiful, unprompted, so you clearly aren't some ugly troll. But what you may not fully appreciate is that, IN GENERAL, young men are not approaching women today. I won't go into detail why, but hypergamy and MeToo are major reasons for that. The point is, the vast majority of men today won't approach a woman UNLESS she is giving off a friendly, open, outgoing vibe. They have all seen other men be publicly accused of being creepy (which, most of the time, just means she didn't think he was attractive enough), or blasted online, and some have even lost their careers and income.

What this means to you is that you are not going to be able to just sit around and wait for men to approach you. You have to meet them halfway, and that means you need to be more outgoing generally, which means smiling in public, welcoming people into your conversations or jumping into theirs, and generally letting it be known that you are an open and friendly person (open to conversation).

That doesn't mean you need to approach or be the first to show specific interest, just that you are a safe person to start a conversation with. That may still be difficult for you - many people struggle with being outgoing - but it would make all the difference in your outcomes. You'd see other's interest in you multiply.

Remember too that women always tend to think that looks are EVERYTHING, but that's not how men work. For men, your looks need to meet or exceed a minimum level of beauty that for most men is quite low - you'd probably be shocked at how low. Once you meet that standard, the looks requirement is satisfied, but that's where personality, attitude, morals, and values all really matter, and most women lose it at this step, but then blame their looks or his imagined requirements of her looks, even though she past his looks standards easily.

Your personality is a far bigger part of the equation than you are used to believing, and learning to be more outgoing and laid-back will hugely improve your opportunities with men. And it won't cost you a cent - just a change in thinking ((which, yeah, isn't always easy).
