'worried' might be the wrong word. I'd take no issue with his experience, or lack of.

He says he used to be a bit promiscuous when he was younger, college era. But know he says sex isn't all that great, I smell a lie...

Given his interest in conversation regarding sexual experience, I highly doubt he's asexual. I never have conversations about needlepoint with anyone, even if they do it a lot. Now as for him being inexperienced, I think your Instict is probably right. The real questions are, does it matter and/or are you thinking about adding to his experience? I'm assuming you are not completely without experience yourself, so if you do decide to give him a spin, be aware you may need to take the lead. Don't let him rush ahead too fast, do this not only for you, but for anybody he may be with in the future. That said, also have safe sex, for 2 reasons. First, he may not be as inexperienced as you or I think he is, second, it's good training. If you're not interested in having sex with him, none of this matters.

A virgin who said that he was promiscuous? how silly, it hard to tell if someone is virgin or asexual, but hope that he a virgin in this case, and promiscuous person who become asexual is the worse of both worlds. Anyway guys don't have a hymen so it's hard to know for sure.
