A guy who comes to things I run/attend has taken to calling me different endearments, standing too close, and acting very... bf-like. It's strange bc we've never dated and don't have "a history" at all.
Folks often assume he's my hubby and ask how long we've been married, to which he smiles and I raise a brow, politely explaining, "We just know each other bc he's related to my friend."
Why's he doing this nonsense?

Maybe he is comfortable around you and maybe he has a crush.
Comfortable... maybe. I never use endearments towards him at all and I sort of act as though he hasn't used them, but it's getting to be a bit much.
A crush? Don't guys eventually stop having those?
@DishLady I will let you know when it happens.
Lol.
I dunno, I never use that with someone I'm not with.
Cheap flattery, nothing deeper than that.
(Doesn't make much sense. Seems super random.)
Why does it need to make sense?
I like my structured hospital corners. Nice tidy logic. Random stuff bugs me.
Hospital corners? okay...
It's an expression... that you like things organized/logical. "Miss hospital corners" (When Harry Met Sally).
Love that movie, forgot that line. My favorite line is "yeah well that symptom is fucking my wife"...😂
Yeees!
He was at the Giants game with his buddy...
Guys use cheap flattery because they think that's what women want to hear. It's really not that deep.
There are so many great lines in that one... I like "Call the cops, it's already out there" and the VM where he guesses whether she's trapped under something heavy and isn't picking up the phone, lol.
I can't believe you can quote lines from a movie...😂
It's corny if you aren't in a relationship with that person. You obviously don't mind it that much.
