Did I pique his curiosity naturally or because of my ex? What is he up to? Why did he wait to talk to me?

Recently, a guy that I've seen around for 4 years approached me. We started talking.
A couple of weeks in, he said I'm not what I seem to be. He says he has some female friends and asked if we could be friends. He mentions how our horoscopes were compatible. Before that tho, he asked me if I remembered his name after talking to him for a few weeks.
I didn't, and he told me that it was ok and repeated it, he told me not to forget (later on in the evening, he tested me)
I told him, I only remembered names of people I really like or were bad to me
He asked where he was and I said right now he's in the middle, but I remember faces. I asked him about my name because I felt bad for not knowing his, but he knew my first & last name. He asked if I wanted his number and I said sure. He said I better use it to text him. We've had different, and intimate conversations but none directed at each other Like we talked about relationships and partners but I definitely made it clear on my side that I'm staying single. What doesn't sit right with me is the plot twist: This guy worked with my ex. I believe my ex taught him his role. My ex even being my ex , sat in my area all the time. The managers knew it, coworkers knew it, no one knew that we dated before. From their point of view, this guy just liked being near me. He saw me all this time and maybe said hi and then talked to my ex. My ex switched shifts this year and he's not there anymore, but 1 day my ex worked our shift and interrupted us and after a couple minutes, even though I used open body language, he looked at my ex and I and walked away.
