Was he genuinely interested or stringing me along?

A few months ago I matched with this guy on tinder and after a few days we decided to meet and go on a date. The morning of the date he contacted me and cancelled because he got called into work. I accepted and said it was fine and we moved onto adding and talking on Snapchat. After a week or two of talking, we decided to meet on the upcoming weekend. But for the rest of that week, neither of us contacted each other so the date never happened. The Saturday we were supposed to meet, I went out with my friends instead and got a little drunk and contacted him. He was drunk as well and asked me to come over to the party he was at. I declined. That night we exchanged numbers and at 2 am we talked on the phone for an hour.

Ever since that night we talked almost everyday and he became the best guy I’ve ever talked to before. He would compliment me, ask me how I was doing and what I was doing, reply fast etc. About two weeks ago I said that we need to plan our date but that I can’t meet him the upcoming weekend so we agreed to meet this weekend. After the conversation we never talked about the date again until three days ago when I said we should plan which day to meet. He said he was going to meet a friend Saturday afternoon but could meet the evening so we met then.

Yesterday I wrote to him and asked what time and where we should meet. He said that he didn’t know because his friend wanted to keep the time they met open (whatever that means). I’m ngl I got annoyed so I wrote should we just forget about meeting to which he replied “no I want to meet it’s just that I don’t know” and then wrote “but I don’t want to leave you hanging either”. Then I wrote “maybe we shouldn’t meet because I don’t want to waste my Saturday and you obviously don’t know when you can” to which he replied “yeah I don’t want to waste your Saturday either”. When reading that, I blocked him.

So ladies and gents, was he stringing me along? Or was he genuinely interested?
