Why do people think everything girls do, is for guys?

i posted a question a few days ago on advice to get prettier. all i got was ”this will make him like u” ”this is what guys love” always bringing up guys as if i can't just want to be pretty for myself

Because the patriarchy trains everyone to believe that the opinions of men are the most important ones, so men will believe that women do everything for them, the way they dress, act, sound, it’s all for male approval/denial. There are also tons of women who genuinely believe if they don’t have male approval that they’re failures in life.

Because if you actually got pretty for yourself and not for validation you would dress and do your makeup the same at home as you do going out.
