Yes kids are expensive. Yes it demands your time and your patience as well as your money. Yes you will sacrifice your desires and pleasures for their needs and happiness. Yes it never ends. None of that is a recent revelation. Anyone with a brain knows that going in. Either accept that responsibility or don't have kids.

There are rewards by the way. And you may fail miserably as a parent. If you can't cope with the risks and the responsibilities, maybe find something else to do with your life.

Kids are a blessing but that depends on what kind of person your child turns out.

You can try your best but that doesn't guarantee anything once they grow up.

And you must come prepared and accept a child is going to consume a lot of your time and energy especially for the 1st 8 or 9 years.

They’re not trying to change your mind, they’re being honest and I suspect aren’t aware of how much of a commitment you’re willing to make for your kids. You probably haven’t made them aware of how you’re already looking forward to having your reality shift to focus entirely on your child rather than yourself, and that’s just something you can communicate to them to help them see that you’re justified in pursuing this.

Don't do it unless you have the financial stability to. There are other factors someone should be looking at before having kids (but the majority never do), so at the end of the day the money is where it's at. So as long as you have that...

I also really want children, but definitely not now (I'm 19). But before, we should really enjoy our youth. Get an education and a good job, and also find a good person for this. So I just stopped thinking about it and live in the moment and plan for the next 5 years.

I know that adult problems require an adult mind and experience to solve. I know it will be difficult, but I think that in the future I will be ready

That's not unreasonable. If you can get yourself financially stable and have a home to raise them in, then that is not unheard of at all.

The thing is, I don't think people are telling you this to dissuade you. They are telling the truth.

Kids are hart to raise.
We need to be ready for health, mentality and financially. So don’t have kids if you not sure for what can you give them for at least in the 10 years ahead.
