I have a history of self-harm.

If I discovered that my partner was self-harming, it would not appeal to me, but neither would it repel me. I, of course, would be saddened by it and encourage him to seek help while remaining supportive throughout the process.

Is any stage of depression or addiction attractive? Not at all. People don’t need to bond over their traumas, if anything it could be more triggering bc it sounds like you still struggle.
