Why would a friend downplay your position in the situation?

Guy A, that denied to have sex with after our first kissing started courting another girl C right infront of me the next day knowing I can see it. And we have been in no contact for almost 2 months but we are on each others Instagram. A month later after kissing our common friend who is closer to guy A, met me and said repeatedly that he really wants guy A to get serious with girl C, knowing that he kissed me. The friend completely downplayed the whole situation and said I'm glad you got some action after so long.

Like I can't get any action, I choose to avoid hookups and casual anything.
