Why are my friends telling me that I’m going it hurt my guy friend after meeting just someone?

I just met this amazing guy yesterday on university and we talked for a bit. He asked for my number but I said how about face book instead. He doesn’t do social media but snap chat so I gave him my snap chat. I told my best friend and other girl plans about it and I thought they would be excited for me they stay silent. Or no text. My best friend said, “That’s great girl…I bet you found someone you want instead of the guy that likes you for years!”
I was like, “Girl don’t start that! Why are you putting that in?”

One other girl said, “Well how do you thin (my guy friend’s name) feels about all of this?

I rolled my eyes and said, “I don’t know, nothing about it. We’re just friends.”

The other girl gave me a sly look and said, “Oh come on! Are you THIS dense! He OBVIOUSLY likes you! Why do you think he always does nice things for you and why do you think he always calls or visits for the past 18 years just to see how you were doing?”

My best friend said, “They have a point. This guy that had the BIGGEST crush on you for 18 years and you’ve been with guys or chases after guys that wouldn’t not even pay attention to you! Just be careful with this guy. We’re not saying to stop talking to this guy or date your friend, just open your eyes girl. Plus everyone can tell (my guy friends name) has had a crush on you for YEARS! That boy is high over HEELS for you.

Other guy, “How many boys you know that did nice things for you. Like the time you couldn’t make it to the art class, who made a craft for you? HE DID!” He always made sure you were included. Not a lot of guys you dated did that do you. He LOVES you and you’re taking him for granted.”

How am I taking him for granted. I appreciate what he did for me. He’s being a GOOD FRIEND! We are just friends!

Only a guess here, but it may sound like she likes this friend of yours and knows the feeling isn't mutual. She may be feeling like you are passing up HER dream guy/scenario.
