If you were a kid or something I understand because your just a child, but if you’re a teenager or an adult come in! Don’t wait 5, 10, 20 or 30 years to confess your feelings! That’s too long and you’re basically wasting your time on the person that may not like you back and missed out on a person that probably liked YOU.
My guy friend asked me to be his Valentine and confessed his feelings after 18 years! He admitted he liked me. I figured a long time ago but I told him so many times I only like him as a friend! FRIEND! After years of asking me out, asking me to prom, dances every year and never gives other girls a chance. I had to ask other guys if they want to go with me because I KNEW he was going to ask ME. I ended up going with him twice but as a friend. He got upset and said he doesn’t know if he wants to be friends with me right bow. He said he does but he needs space. I understood. I know nobody likes being rejected and I appreciate what he did.
People give girls and women shit for rejecting their guy friends after confessing. What are we supposed to do, say yes to make everyone happy? People don’t give guy us shit for rejecting their female friends.
I can’t believe my guy friend waited 18 years and he only stayed around because he wanted to date me. My brother was like, “Well DUH! Most guys are like that with the girl they find attractive. Are you girls and women stupid? No offense. Guys don’t want to JUST be friends with girls they like/in love with. It’s SO OBVIOUS THAT HE LIKES YOU. Even as kids I can tell he liked you. You broke his heart stringing him along. At least you’re honest.
I did NOT strong him along! I TOLD HIM FOR YEARS THAT I ONLY LIKE HIM AS A FRIEND!
The term friendzone has gotta go.

I can think of a at least one very good reason NOT to tell a best friend about your feelings.
You may have feelings and he (or she) may not reciprocate them. Then what? You are going to confess and take the risk to sever this best friend platonic relationship just because you want to date that person?
Mainly those kids aged 16-20, we all know very well that males are ruled by their testosterone and once they get into your pants, it's bye bye baby. Was nice knowing your body but no.
Result: You have been misused by someone you thought you could trust. It is much better not to confess anything than to risk to lose a best friend.
Yes, stick to expressing more acceptable feelings, like what a wonderful bootay you have there.
Much safer.
@Abbycado What can I say. You always take me by surprise and had no time to check the web for the appropriate meme or picture.
"I'll be back" said a buddy of mine.
@Abbycado I am baaaack. Here, this is the kind of bootay I would not mind biting into...

Fear of rejection is the biggest reason. People would rather stay friends than risk losing the person.
