Why would a guy joke with me about having sex on his couch?

More specifically, a guy that I know it was selling a couch and he was talking about how comfortable it was and how he used to have lots of sex on it and how his ex had no complaints

at a later point we continued the joke where I asked him whether or not he got a new couch yet and he said no and then I asked what were you gonna have sex and then he proceeded to name multiple places where he could have sex in his apartment so a girl then also mentioned that he could always have it at “her” apt too.

It was kind of like we were joking around hypothetically about this “girl”

Was I being friend zoned in that moment?

For context, I just know him at the gym and up until that moment we’ve just had a small emotional bond nothing serious though
