In this hypothetical scenario, who are the good guys?

Let’s say there’s a room empty save for 10 men, and they’re all talking about various things. One man makes a derogatory joke about women, the usual thing where the punchline is women are stupid/sluts/only useful in the kitchen.
Three men laugh at the joke, because a good joke is a good joke! They’re not going to let political correctness stop them from enjoying a good laugh.
The remaining 6 men are made uncomfortable by the joke.
Three of those six still laugh in a sort of uncomfy chuckle, they don’t want to be left out of the group even if it’s kinda gross.
The other three remain silent, they don’t want to encourage that kind of behavior by laughing at it. They change the subject.
At the end of the night, all ten men go home, the joke is not mentioned again. Who are the good men?
The man who made the joke is the only bad men, all the others are good men
The man who made the joke and the men who laughed are the bad men, all the others are good men
The man who made the joke, the men who laughed, and the men who still laughed despite being uncomfortable are all bad men, the good men are the men who remained silent

And the correct answer is… 🥁🥁🥁 Trick question! None of the men are good guys because no one spoke up to say anything about the obviously undesirable, sexist behavior. However, every single man in that scenario went home believing they’re a good man. Good night everybody!

The reason every one of these men believes he’s a good man is due to our system of patriarchy that inherently benefits all of them to the point that a good number of men are unable to recognize when they’re continuing to contribute to a system that actively makes the lives of both women and men worse, just in ways guys don’t like talking about. That, or you can just call me a feminist man-hater and ignore it. Your call
