anytime he flirts its subtle and always in dms. i tend to flirt in call which i didn't really mind. but now it sounds like he’s stroking his ego a bit. if i say something like oh you’re handsome. he goes “oh marie marie marie.” or “interesting”. or he’ll say “you’re very obvious” almost teasing. by obvious he’s saying my feelings or how i feel for him. and sometimes he’ll say “oh you sent that fast” if i reply back. i’m getting impression that he thinks of himself highly or like im so obsessed girl in love with him. i could be wrong but that’s how it kinda feels. he doesn’t do it aggressively or rude but. has anyone had a similar experience? anyone been that guy or on the other side of this

If I were in your shoes, the intent behind all this would be my focal point. Like if it’s just casual flirting then whether or not he’s trying to stroke his ego doesn’t matter so much because at the end of the day, you’re just two people having fun. And if this is just a fun pass-time then technically you’re both getting something from it, whether it’s a self esteem boost, ego stroking, flattery, etc.


The only real reason I’d imagine you feeling how you currently do would be if this isn’t all you want your connection with him to amount to. Because in that case then yeah, I could see how you’d grow tired of feeling as though you’re only feeding into this guy’s high opinion of himself, but not getting anything out of it other than thinking he sees you as some obsessive, desperate woman. It also sounds like he’s mainly accepting your compliments, comments and being fueled with flattery without giving you much in return, which to me creates sort of an imbalance.
