Is this guy fetishizing my race and body or am I overreacting?

I started talking to this guy and I noticed he always brings up someone’s race; even if it’s not necessarily in a rude way. He’s always telling me someone’s racist. If not that, he’s talking about mine. Yesterday out of the blue he said I looked Asian. I told him that he brings race up a lot, he was like “give me an example”. Obviously I couldn’t at the moment cause everyone knows when you say give me an example, it makes you forget 😭 Now we’re talking about food and he’s just like “pretty lightskin” to me out of the blue? I’m not even lightskin, i’m a brown skin black woman. but it seems like he keeps calling me that as a little title. He also talks about how “tiny” I am, we met less than a month ago and he’s brought it up so many times. I’m starting to get worried. Am I just being sensitive?

It seems like he's obsessed with the race topic. If I were you, I would feel uncomfortable.

I don't think you're overreacting. Perhaps you should try to change the subject whenever he talks about race.

Oh dear, I don't know about this guy. I know of one very racist man that married 2 black women. He is deeply flawed and feels he doesn't deserve a white woman. I don't know if this guy is like that, but sounds like something is up.

There seems to be a lot of race obsessed people these days. I was married to a woman of a different race, but we never talked about it in the 15 years we were together. We just loved each other.

Just tell him how it makes you feel. Ask him why he focuses on skin color and physical traits so much. Is he insecure about something?
