How can you tell if a guy genuinely wants a deep, serious connection?

Not just in relationship terms but as an all around friend as well? It might just be my experience (or lack of reading guys body language) but it seems like to me that guys typically avoid this kind of thing? I dunno maybe I’m overthinking it?

For relationships I think this is a big test to see if he can wait 8 months without having sex with you. And For friendships If you don’t stop investing in it, the relationship will keep going. Before becoming friends with someone, check these three things: 1) Are they good hearted? 2) Do they want good things for you? 3) Do they value you? If a person has these three qualities, I think you can build a long-term friendship even if your energy doesn’t fully match , just by showing consistent effort. And by effort, I mean regularly asking them to hang out and calling your friends at least twice a week.

but yes, it is about experience... let's just say that if you have had a few or many experiences with guys who are not looking for a deep serious connection, then at least you should be able to recognize the "markers" for that..

and by contrast, those who act differently... and act more consistently, might be the ones looking into something more deep, and serious as well

Well i definitely want one of those. they're harder to come by regardless of gender.

I guess i would tell if they're willing to have those deep sometimes uncomfortable conversations with you maybe about marriage or kids. another thing is if they are willing to be emotionally vulnerable around you. open up about things in their past maybe. stuff like that

I think the simple way to know anyone is interested in you is that they make an effort to communicate with you on a consistent basis and genuinely try to get to know you and what makes you tick.
