When a guy calls a girl ‘cute,’ what does he actually mean?

i went on a few dating apps. I get called by other guys "cute" there. Never really understood how to take it, cause for me, it just screams like a guy telling u he's not that invested or not that much into you.

I guess it's probably better than hot in a way that indicates he's not objectifying you (Or am I wrong on this)? At the same time, I do wanna get called hot, but because i get called cute more times than hot, when a guy does call me hot I immediately think he's just in a horny state enough to fuck a tree he finds hot.

Guys are annoying and I'm guilty of this too make no mistake but reality is we call girls cute too much, it's basically just objectifying them but with cute instead.
And no they're interested if saying this.
Maybe on some occasions it is telling you aren't hot enough but most of the time it's not this.
I do think if a guy finds you hot they'd call you hot and cute right away. So if your noticing they aren't then yeah I'll be honest not a good sign. However does it matter if guys still show interest in you? Probably not, not everyone needs to be hot.
