Is my dating app match secretly my acquaintance, or am I paranoid?

I met a guy on a dating app who looks just like a guy I know but isn’t my friend but I know well. As soon as I saw his photo, I was struck by a feeling of knowing him. He looks exactly like my acquaintance except with light facial hair. The guy I know is usually clean shaven, but last time I said no to him about attending my meetup group, not to sit at my table, after we had a fight, he came and sat at my table, after growing facial hair and growing his hair out a bit.

A few days ago, I invited the guy I know to hang out as friends, which he misinterpreted as a sexual invitation. I said no and that I’m not interested in having sex with him. A few days later, this profile pops up, pushing me for sex and talking about visiting each other’s homes. I sense that it’s the same guy again. On the other hand, I don’t want to be overly paranoid, as I haven’t had sex for years. The guy online said we’ve talked before but only online.

I know the guy I know isn’t a terrible person. However, I’ve seen him lie to get his own way before. Might he also lie to get sex?

I mean, the pictures are right there along with you having seen the dude in person. He must have an incredibly unmemorable face to not be able to recognize him like 3 different times from the sound of it. In any case, I don’t think the identity matters so much when you can receive a message like the last one and actually giving this person soliciting you for sex the time of day. Like I wouldn’t have exchanged words, let alone enough conversation to be pushed for sex. I guess it just comes down to you’re either down for that or you’re not. If not, just block and move on.
