To some it may be a turn off especially if the vehicle looks like it’s falling apart. On the other side of things if the vehicle is in showroom condition it’s not a turn off.

As for my vehicle it’s 15 years old & knock on wood it looks good, sounds good, runs good & it’s well maintained. My vehicle isn’t a turn off & what is a turn off is the lack of quality I see in new vehicles especially when I test drive them.

I know a lot of women claim they don't care about cars but they secretly do lol.

I understand the sentiment of older cars being unatractive but at the same time I think it demonstrates patience, dedication, sentimentality. Sure you could trade it in for something newer and shinier but you don't want to because you're happy with it.

And you can apply that logic elswhere.

Most people couldn’t tell you the year of most cars unless it was in bad shape. My wife didn’t even know the Mercedes and BMW symbols until she owned them. I think it is a turnoff that someone would notice and care so much.
