What would be your opinion of a man who drives a restored classic car instead of a new one?

My dad did that. Bought a 1966 SS Camaro, fully restored it and would drive it around on occasion. Never did much else with it. He eventually gifted it to my brother for his wedding. My brother then sold the car.


My dad is nostalgic, but not always practical. Driving around that old car once every year or so was all he ever did with it. I assume men who do the same are similar: nostalgic but it’s basically just a giant hotwheels car.

I'd say, if it isn't an entirely money-consuming investment, all the better to not let an classic go to waste.

On the contrary thank you so much for your nice reply I never mentioned what car it is but it's a classic Volkswagen Beetle... I painted it red with all the original touches and it's a great car so far for everyday use very cheap to maintain and almost all of my students think it looks much better than most new cars because it's unique

Someone who likes and possibly collects classic cars. Like John Steed on, "The Avengers". He drives and antique Bently Rolls built about 100 years ago while all his co-stars drive flashy new sports cars.
My neighbor, Ron, used to have a Thunderbird from the `70's that he took very good care of. He just sold it a few years ago.

I would want an old restored car with all modern stuff in it like Sydney Sweeney does, it's hidden away so it doesn't take away from the old car look.
