Would you be upset if she just gave you a side hug?

He was cute. We all went to lunch together. This was my first time meeting him. We are all the same religion. I had been struggling with my hormones and at the end of lunch he came in for a hug with both hands around my waist and I directed it into a side hug because of my struggle. He was mirroring me and seeming a little nervous at times during lunch. We were at a round table directly across from each other. Good vibe amongst friends.

He's from another state, so I didn't know when we would cross paths again. It was this past Sunday. I was late to church, and I saw the people he came with before, and then saw him and I was happy he was here. I was planning to talk to him a little. We both had a lot of people talking to us after church was over, and I talked to everyone he came with and I was waiting to talk to him and he just walked right past me, not even looking in my direction It upset me. I'm like wow, it's like that, ok. then he walked through this little room that has a window to the main part and he turned and looked right at me from far away the whole walk through that room, then kept going.

Did a redirection of a hug ruin everything? I don't know if it could have been something, but it would have been nice.

Why even look back at me, but ignore me up close?

I think he was being petty. But it wasn't warranted and I don't know if I will ever get to tell him. This sucks.
