Seems like a bit of a loaded question by how you asked it. I'd definitely prefer the more modest option here. In general, that's how I lean, but I don't think I would care too much unless it was extreme in either direction. It is not my place to dress my partner, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't listen to their input on me.

I am slow to judge someone, who likes showy clothes. If the second impression of them is a cool person, rather than someone who's indeed attention-seeking - it's fine by me.

Both are okay, only difference that I've known some skimpy-dressing chicks, which were indeed vain (flaunting money even more to be honest), but I still give the benefit of doubt.
