Is it normal for guys to feel insecure about their looks and personality?

Like about their looks, personality, etc? I grew up thinking I was awkward, annoying, too short, and ugly.

Absolutely. Men can be just as insecure about their looks, personality, or whether they're “good enough.” A lot of guys just hide it better because they feel they're expected to be confident all the time. Honestly, a little vulnerability can be attractive. ❤️

That actually is why I hid it for so long, I thought that guys were always supposed to be strong and confident, never letting stuff like that get to them.

I think most guys go through something like that whether it is their haircut, waist size, (in high school a zit), their height, their personality, their dick size, their smile. But one has to realize that there is no such thing as a perfect person either their looks or their personality.

They usually don't unless they have anxiety, or are too dependent on what others say to/about them. They may have had incidents in the past where they were bullied or belittled for their looks. But usually it is just a case of low self-esteem and insecurity.

Yes, that's pretty common. You might consider counseling if it's available and affordable.

I felt the same way -- not exactly ugly, but nerdy and awkward. Adults who feel this way generally were abused or neglected by their parents. Therapy could help you see yourself more positively.
