Why would a former love interest create multiple dating profiles to get my attention?

A rather good -looking man that I have avoided contact with for some time, the same one that I suspected had chosen a virginal nineteen year old over me in the past, because she was much more conventionally beautiful and innocent than I was; when he was in his late twenties and I was in my mid-thirties, has reached out on another dating app that we both use and has made about 3-4 profiles, one of them as his official profile and one with a picture of him on a trip with his now ex, who was the nineteen year old when I wouldn't acknowledge him on his other profiles, joking about looking for a wife. What is this about? Is he trying to say that he's attempting to pursue me as a potential partner, is he attempting to make me jealous or get a reaction, or is he probably just trying to be an arrogant prick? No one has ever behaved like that before, so I am merely slightly curious.
