Good question because historically it was drunk by everyone including children. But I think it's reputation as a man's drink came from it been supplied to labourers on the railroads to keep them going in the old days. It became associated with men's work and eventually a man's drink. Another possibility is it was often women who sold it and what better way to increase sales than stroke a man's ego.
I don’t think it’s a man’s drink. Rum. & Coke is more powerful
@Iron_Man I agree, but beer has been associated with men, mostly. purplepoppy's explanation seems reasonable (same thing as AI says when you ask this question)
It's cultural. I visited a German couple, they had cases of beer to drink with dinner. I'm Italy they had wine.
Who calls beer manly? Men who are afraid to order wine.
because almost twice as much men... drink beer, compared to women
and when they do, they also drink twice as much as women do
Because mostly men drink it? I know hardly any women who like beer.
When things go wrong and will not come right,
Though you do the best you can,
When life looks black as the hour of night –
A pint of plain is your only man.
Because it tastes like piss water. And it's supposedly manly to grimace every time you drink booze
