He keeps canceling dates. Should I still give him a chance?

I'm kinda annoyed right now. I met a really nice guy who treats me with respect, but lately he's been canceling dates at the last min. First was because he had to help his childhood male friend's mom move furniture and I understood. Next, he had to give the same friend a ride somewhere at the last min. Now he said he's too tired and he feels like he's getting sick. At that point I just wasn't surprised. I wasn't rude or anything, but I'm sure he heard the disappointment in my voice. He apologized all of those times and I said it OK. He texted me just now say he's sorry and asks if I hate him. I didn't really answer yet I'm still a little annoyed. I just use the missed time to study or something...

I want to give him another chance but something tells me this is going to be an ongoing problem. His friends and family seem to rely on him too much. I don't want to give up on him too easily because I rarely get to date guys who treat me nicely. I'm not sure what to do or what to say at this point.

We've been on 2-3 dates before and it went well. I never slept with him. Just getting tired of the excuses.

React normal and turn him into the "tag along". That's my approach to these situations, man or woman. Don't let him see that it's messing with your emotions, just don't make one on one plans with him anymore. Invite him along to something with your friends. Make him earn back his word. After some times of him keeping plans, give him another chance.

He might feel like you friend zoned him, and to that I say "good". If he has any interest in you, then this is going to send off warning bells to him that he's screwing up and maybe that will get him back to trying again. If he cancels on such plans, it's fine because your plans weren't dependent on him, and you can slowly just stop asking him.

If he asks you to do something one on 1, tell him you're busy, then invite him as a tag along. If you're worried about him seeing through that and picking up on it, that's the point. If he asks directly why you aren't hanging out one on one with him, you can tell him that you don't like trying to make plans at the last minute when people cancel.

From the sounds of it he's hugely responsible, shown through the figurehead role he seems to have taken in his family and with his friends. He's assertive and doesn't laze about, even better yet, he treats you well!

Don't be so stupid as to let a few mishaps derail a potential relationship.

Dont make this guy a priority. make him the guy you date when you have nothing else better to do. he's not the only guy in the world

I think you're the girl he put on the back burner. I don't think he's putting you first and you should be number one to the guy

Blunt answer: You come across as being quite selfish (no offence). you say he treats you right, he texts you back etc. he sounds like a good guy! Are you really going to dump him because he's got take care of his responsibilities(another good feature)?
