Why is she avoiding the boyfriend word in front of me?

There this girl I was interested in and we hit it off really well but I found out she had a boyfriend (she doesn't know I found this out) but she has never mentioned him to me and she never talks about him to any of her friends when we hangout in front of me, one girl recently mentioned her boyfriend only by name though but she made a point that this guy just a friend of hers, in the past she referred to this guy as her brother as well, Recently I've tried to keep a slightly lower profile around her because once I found out she had a boyfriend my interest in her began to fade quite rapidly. The fact she blatantly covering it up in front of me makes me suspicious though? and its made me question why she doing this? also found out she been with this guy for least a couple of years or more and had some rough times in their first year of their relationship however I was so dam sure the early days she was interested in me, we still get on well but we are both quite shy people. Usually its other way round with girls in relationship they always say "MY BOYFRIEND" etc in some respects its good because you know where you stand straight away

Who she dated hasn't got to do with anyone really, that's her buisness and girls who have told you obviously wasn't over their bfs in the first place, she doesn't tell you because if she did you would be turned off from her and think she's not over him, this is a good thing not a bad thing, she doesn't have nothing to hide from you just it has nothing to do with you ether who any girl dates before you, you won't be the one and only she's ever dated in her life time, it should be the other way around when girls constantly talk about their ex's that you should be turned off, she is saving you the burden of her past and not acting all hissy and emotional over it, anyone who does it's not right on the other person they like, it's nothing alteria about it at all, she just doesn't act like other people these days who mouth off to their new dates about their ex's, she's saving guys the ear ache and you should be thankful for it, you don't need to hear every detail of someone's past.

oh you said HAD so I thought you meant past pre-tense lol um... well actually id do the same thing of not telling anyone, a lot of people are too nosy these days and if you tell them your with someone a lot of people try to cause a lot of drama, she doesn't tell you ether because you like her and she doesn't want to make things any harder I guess. She just sounds like she keeps things to herself compared to the countless people who show off if they have someone lol. Best way to be really.

yeah fair play I don't think she knows I'm interested I just thought she was interested in my so I was shocked when I found out she had a boyfriend so kept my distance but she still tries to talk to me but usally when a girl has a boyfriend I lose interest so just kinda wish she mentioned it b4 , you say she keeping things to herself but there being private and there lying, she actally said a few times her boyfriend was just a friend which strikes me as a little odd

Maybe it's friends with benefits lol who knows... but whatever she's doing it's really up to her but it's a great way to get people off her back if he is her boyfriend, as if you tell anyone your with someone people are all on your back you know what I mean? so if they are together she probs don't want people to fuss and talk about it to the whole town.

She didn't want you to be put off and stop talking to her. I know lots of girls who avoid talking about their boyfriends so that they can meet other guys and act like they're single. She was probably interested.

No, not usually. None of the girls I know have actually left their boyfriends. They want you to be the "on-the-side" boy for attention, variety, excitement, etc.
