Guy emails me: is he interested or just being friendly?

I've started to talk more frequently with a guy at work. We pretty much confide in each other about work related stuff and he's easy to talk to. We're also nerds and chat about conspiracy stuff!

The other day he asks for my email address so I gave it him. Anyway checked my email 5 days later and I find 4 emails from him!

The first email was him just asking how I am?

The second email was telling me about a YouTube video on conspiracy stuff! He also drops his phone number and tells me to ring him.

The third email he tells me to get well soon cause he finds out from a work colleague that I was not feeling too well. He also tells me to email him when I get a chance

The 4th email he says he's worried because he has not heard from me and then makes a comment about friends do worry!

I thought the emails were a bit much tbh, but then thought maybe its just coming across all wrong so I email him back saying that I haven't been feeling to well and appreciate the concern etc...

Anyway he replies saying it was nice to hear from me and he hopes I get well soon. Then he says that if I need to talk or if I'm feeling down then I can call him anytime on his number, which he reiterated!

OK The last email kinda freaked me out a little!

The fact that he said I can call him anytime does this mean that he's trying to increase my comfort level with him first, so he doesn't seem too pushy asking for number so soon?

Is he interested or just being friendly?

Guys have you ever emailed a girl and given your number, and what were your intentions behind it? Did you wanna just be friends or were you actually interested in her?

I should mention that when he emailed me 4 times, it was over a course of 5 days and not in one go! so one email pretty much every day..is that normal?!

I ran out of characters from my last comment. So, I hope that I can continue here: Anyway, as I was saying, you mentioned that you two work together. He may be worried about potential problems with coworkers who date or if the company that you work for has rules against it.

I'm also guessing that he is shy around you providing that it sounds like he emails you more than he actually talks to you.

In person he's not that shy with me, although I haven't noticed that he flirts or anything, He's just quitetly confident. It was just in his email that he kinda showed that he was caring towards me..oh this doesn't look good! I hope he doesn't email me again tomorrow..i kinda hinted in the last one that all this conspiracy stuff can take over your life and its always good to chill out once in a while!

Really? I mean I get the impression from him in person and his emails that he's the caring type. So he could just be friendly or am I mistaken? When a guy says I can call him anytime what is he actually saying, I don't mean in simple terms but what's the meaning behind it?!

Well, from my point of view, I'd say that he is into you and wants to date you. You know him better than I do though. Do you guys flirt with each other or is it more platonic? You know better than I do. But if it was me acting that way, it would mean that I was interested in more than a friendship with you. If you are interested in dating him, suggest that you to meet for lunch, dinner, movie, or whatever you both find fun to do.

We're more platonic. I talk to him as a friend and don't see him in any other way. I hope he's not secretly interested in me or something..oh no!

Yeah. He's caring. He cares for you :) I'm sure that he likes you and wants to date you unless he's gay. lol. I don't email a woman that many times unless I like her and want to date her let alone give her my number. I'm sure that he is too shy to ask you out or just thinks that he's already in the "friend zone" with you. Being in the "friend zone" really sucks when you want to date a girl. You also mentioned that you two work together.

i know today he asked me how to put a video link in an email! I'm sure he already knows how todo that but just used as that as an excuse to email me. Oh boy..what to do!

Well now is a good time to set the pace, as in, he might be a tad clingy, you can't be too sure yet but if you pace your responses the way you're okay with he will probably follow suit. xP

Maybe take the pace away from e-mails and change it to calls? Try to limit the time maybe because yeah.. he seems... to be over doing it. xP

Do you actually like him? Like.. in that way? lol

No I don't like him in that way. I like him as a friend and like talking to him about stuff but that's it. I think I will have to start pacing the responses and hopefully he will do the same! When you said perhaps try and move away from emails and try calls instead that made me chuckle! I just think that would be worse, he'd be texting me all the time then! In his first few emails he did say to call him ANYTIME I wanted if I felt down or needed to call. If I start doing that then I've had it!
