He's always joking around with me, is he just playing games?

There's this guy I like that always mentions us going out to a movie or concert together (saying we should watch this movie or he would only watch if I were with him) but then takes it back almost immediately with a "nooo," or a laugh to show it was a joke. I don't think he knows I like him, but is this a sign of interest? Or is he just toying with me and just making an innocent joke?

My guess is he likes you and is looking for some positive feedback from you. He might be using the joke as a defense to safe himself from feeling rejected if you rebuff him. If you say no, then he can say he was only joking. Of course if you say yes, he is going to go for it.

So next time he does this, say "too bad, I would have said yes if you had been serious". If you like this guy, train him to be more serious, because if he continues with the jokes going into a relationship, it can create communication problems.

i think he is scared that you will reject him by saying no. Its better that you just tell him how you feel. Next time why don't you ask him to go to the movies instead of him asking you? See if he goes with that idea and goodluck to you! Don't BS...just be up front!

i'd say he is maybe not so self-confident or insecure so he just asks you all these questions to see your reaction. and I wouldn't say it's just an innocent joke. you should tell him next time he asks you this sth like: well I really think we should go to the concert or if he still doesn't get it tell him directly I like you :) hope I helped

Maybe he is trying to see what you think about going to the movies with him. What do you say to him? I'd say "sure, why not?" and smile. If you guys start going to the movies then that's a sign he likes you.

I think he likes you and he himself is insecure. He is afraid of rejection and plays his asking you out in a joke in hope that if you say no, then he can say I was just kidding. I think he is really testing you to see how you feel without directly asking you out (meaning without joke). You should respond to him immediately after he makes this comment and say, "Yeah, I would love that," or something like that saying yes and give him a hint that you like him.

Sounds like he's scared of being rejected to me. I'd say just have something in mind like a film and just go for it if the chance comes around again
