This is the dumbest thin I have ever heard. We have something in America called freedom that allows people to live their lives how they want to as long as they aren't hurting anyone else. If someone wants to be fat and eat bad let them. Nobody has the right to tell anyone else how to live. Nobody has the right to tell someone how to live their lives.
No but people need to be properly educated about the subject. Losing weight is not as hard as people think it is, just takes time, like everything in life. I've been there so i know the struggle
Americans seem to have super size portions, a good start would be to down size them and eat in moderation.

@renogaza Oh. Well yes it's a sad story. I'm just pointing out that when Japan makes it illegal to be fat, they are ostracizing people for no good reason. Fat people are bullied there because it's basically encouraged by law. Companies are fined for people being fat, so the natural inclination as a businessman is to fire fat people and avoid hiring them to begin with. If someone can't make it in society and no one wants to give them a chance, they will likely feel worthless and like a failure. It creates a cultural problem. Japan has openly and actively created a number of cultural problems, which is why I don't find it surprising that they have a serious suicide problem on their hands.

Everyone says that about every other country in any type of power position. The US aren't a bunch of saints either. Different countries, different rules, lifestyles, culture, etc. Doesn't mean it's right, doesn't mean it's wrong (aside from legit atrocities)

That's more the point really. Every country thinks every other one is bad and horrible and needs to change and push for their way of life on another country yet when that country tries to push their ways, oh man, then it's bad. It's not okay, but every country, at least in the power game, does it.
