How I Reversed My Slow Metabolism to a High Metabolism

How I Reversed My Slow Metabolism to a High Metabolism

So this is kind of a personal story, but I hope it will help some of you guys.

I always had a very slow metabolism. This is not something I personally have contributed to: like starving myself on a diet or other things that consciously fuck up the metabolism. I was very frusturated, because nothing ever worked when I tried to fix it. I tried working out, to increase muscle mass but still my metabolism wouldn't work with me. I tried to drink a LOT of green tea. Eat chili, ginger.. and all the other things that should help speed up the metabolism. Then I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism: the kind were I have a completely "normal" thyroid gland that is not making enough hormone because of a problem in the pituitary gland. Doctors told me it was genetics, and it probably was... they wanted to put me on medication, but I said no. I wanted to look for a more natural way of healing my metabolism.

Then I found this forum online, where a girl said she healed her metabolism on a plant-based diet. I was very skeptical, since that probably would be the last thing I would have thought of. Then I did my own research on the plant-based lifestyle, and I saw a bunch of people that have healed all kinds of diseases eating plant-based. Specially I followed Anthony Williams advices, in his book ''Thyroid Healing (Book)'' I decided to try it out.

Before I tried it out, I ate about 1800 calories a day, and I was moderately active. I now eat 2300 calories a day and I'm stil moderately active. I have lost 65 lbs in a period of 5 months, and I lost 10% body fat. My metabolism is now working very effectively. Almost to the point where I'm wondering if I have gotten a high metabolism.

Just to mention it: My ratio on the plant-based diet was: 80% carbs, 10% fat and 10% protein.

(HCLF lifestyle)

And I''m not a doctor so I can't give scientific evidence of this. It just worked for me, so maybe it will work for you.
