Living with ADHD

I'm a 20 year old guy who has adult ADHD, I was diagnosed a few years ago after it was missed when I was a child, I'm writing this mytake to let people know about how it feels + some ways to help some people who have it.

The hardest thing about having ADHD is telling your family or your partner it's probably one of the hardest most scary things you will ever say, I was petrified telling my girlfriend. The most important thing to tell anyone is to just be honest, if they truly love you they will stay. It will be challenging for both of you but it can work if you make the effort!

Some ways you can help:

- Research about ADHD + things you can look out for, try to understand how to help.

- Encouragement, I find it great when I have a big of encouragement, I work better doing college work etc.

The hardest thing I think about having ADHD is I often feel bored, I usually like to find hobbies to keep myself busy when I'm off work, like go for a walk or try a new game. I usually like taking the bus and visiting new places, anything to pass the time even little things. Even going to the city and seeing the public helps.

I usually try to set little goals for doing college work, like work for 15-20 mins then take a break, for me studying for an hour straight isn't going to happen, so doing little bits helps. I sometimes make posters with colours to help me remember.
