What is Munchausen syndrome?
Munchausen Syndrome; is to try to make yourself sick to get attention from the health personnel. The person has a certain level of medical knowledge and can easily deceive doctors. Also, Munchausen syndrome and Munchausen syndrome by proxy are never the same thing. The two are different.
What is hypochondriasis?
Hypochondriac individuals go to the hospital and have dozens of tests. They have disease concerns. They believe they are sick.
What are the differences between hypochondriasis and Munchausen syndrome?
Münchausen Syndrome and Hypochondriasis are similar conditions and can therefore be confused.
🌺 The person suffering from Munchausen syndrome is aware that she is not sick. The person who is hypochondriac always thinks she is sick.
🌺 The person with hypochondriac is afraid of getting sick. The person suffering from Munchausen syndrome is not afraid of the disease. On the contrary, she/he does her best to be sick.

Munchausen syndrome - You make someone else sick
supposedly a Mother does this to a Child, not too much
of a Father doing this to a Child.
Hypochondriasis- Obsession with the idea of having a serious but undiagnosed medical condition. Hypochondriasis usually develops during adulthood.
Symptoms include a long-term and intense fear of having a serious condition and worry that minor symptoms indicate something serious. A person may frequently visit or switch doctors. Counseling and medications may help.
What @GoodGuyBreakingBad is referring to is Münchausen syndrome by proxy, not Münchausen syndrome. They are different, but Münchausen syndrome by proxy is more well know because it gets the news stories
