I'm not overweight, but I'm borderline and I'm closer to being on the bigger side then the thinner side and I know that I need to change my life around. Not just to look good but to feel good and be able to one day see my children grow up and I can see my children's children. I think its pretty selfish when people don't thinkabout theirb
I wasn't able to finish, thanks to my phone. Like I was saying: I think it's pretty selfish when people don't think about their bodies but are planning a future for themselves like a family and a career etc . You shorten your lifespan when you choose certain foods to eat and make it a habit. Nobody is saying not to eat a slice of cake or a donut, but being able to have a healthy balance is important. This goes for anyone. I went on many crash diets and not only didn't they work, they put your body in starve mode. I gained twice back when I started eating my "normal" food again. Now, I only work out for 3 days a week, I eat 2 fruits/vegetables a day and I still have my cheat days. I have maintained a size 6-8 jeans and I'm not killing myself. I too have hypothyroid. I also have a hormonal imbalance, which is like a precursor for obesity and diabetes.
I agree. I'm very slender... 5'8" 110. And it is not hard to stay in shape and be healthy. Obesity is NOT healthy and all this "fat acceptance" crap is just making America even more unhealthy! We need to promote FITness. Not FATness. Why promote something that's bad for your health just to give people a continuing excuse to be unhealthy? "Oh it's okay you're 200 pounds. Go sit down and relax, here have a cheeseburger. No one needs to live a long life anyway. Enjoy that heart attack of yours."
If you weigh over 300lbs you get to eat free at the heart attacks grill in Las Vegas, Nevada. Look it up, the owner has a very interesting back story.
Agree. The "Fat Acceptance" is a bunch of people trying to say we must glorify and call obesity beautiful. They can't measure up to normal people who bother to stay in decent shape, so they try to change the rules so laziness is winning.
Nature will have a nice punch for those people in the forms of cancer, stroke, heart disease, diabetes, joint problems...
The movement of acceptance is to be comfortable with yourself so you're not depressed and then try and get healthy. But the lazy people tend to rule the Internet because they have all the time in the world and decide to glorify the fat and remain unhealthy :/ just another excuse
Why anonymous?
Are you deliberately just trying to target overweight people to make yourself feel better?
Are you the same one with the 'Stop glorifying obesity' take?
I bet you are.
these are stupid rationalisations, granted.
but we eat foods we're not designed to eat. there really needs to be curbs on unhealthy foods. people will say "it's my right to eat what the fuck i want!". ok, this is true, but not if half or more of the population is sick. freedom always has limits.
You do know there's a lot of anorexic girls in your country? Abit of extra meat doesn't mean obesity.
There are a lot more overweight and obese people, also if it jiggles it isn't meat, it's fat.
Intresting take, to be fiar this is the first time I have heard of this fat aceptince movement. Is this mainly an American thing?
it's the Asian who were poor coming over feed ya. you guys were naive enough to think they really trying to feed you but they were just stealing. I am Asian and I know it.
Mmmmmmm. Chocolate bars and video games. There's nothing better on a Saturday morning.
I binge eat junk food all day, don't work out at all, and I'm still underweight.
It's not fair.
Girl watch your Health. You don't want to run around here with heart disease by the age of 30. It's terrible and is what is going on with my friends 35 year-old mom :/
Oh man, that sucks for her! Sorry to hear that. But don't worry, I eat my veggies and stuff too. :3 Just wish I was fatter.
Lack of willpower.
A bunch of weak minds in society today.
