Many people are turning to anti vaccination due to the many after affects from children that have been given vaccinations.

Due to vaccinations, which are "supposed" to help cure sicknesses, and build immunities, illnesses that we haven't seen in over one hundred years are coming about all over again. It has been researched, and found that any child that had been given a vaccination to build an immunity to measels for example, in some cases actually ended up having horrible outbreaks of measels, and if they had not been given the vaccination, they had come into contact with someone who had the vaccination, and passed it onto them.

That is only to name one example. Not to mention that the entire basis of vaccination, is the idea that giving someone a small dose of the sickness, will help them build an immunity to it. This idea came from when cows were getting cowpox, but those who came in contact with the cows every day, and had been drinking their milk for a long time, were not getting sick from it, but others were. They then decided to take small samples from the sick cows, and giving small doses to patients to see if the cowpox would build an immunity to smallpox, as cowpox was a lesser form of the diseas. It was never really proven to have worked.

Need I point out, that since vaccines are becoming the norm, more and more doctors and schools are actually PUSHING vaccines onto parents, some even going as far as to threaten parents to get their children taken away, for not wanting to vaccinate their child. This can not be done, it is every parents right to say no to whatever vaccinations they do not want their child to have. However schools and Doctors and what not will often try anyway, using the excuse of "improper medical treatment".

I also can not forget to point out that there is an extreme rise in SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrom) since babies began to recieve an insane amount of vaccinations. Their bodies simply can NOT handle all the sickness. Also, I find it cruel to stick all those needles in a new borne especially, causing a child so much pain is just heartless.

Now that in itself is bad enough in itself, but to add to that, some of the vaccinations are also causing autism, as well as causing many girls and women to become infertile (me being one of them). So not only is it taking life, it is also preventing life before it even has a chance.

No. Please don't try and push these horribly unscientifically supported views onto people. People like you are the reason deadly diseases are making a comeback. Because anti-vaxxers are refusing to let their children be vaccine, diseases such as measles are appearing again. You know what vaccines have done for us? Well, remember smallpox? You wouldn't, would you. Because it has been eradicated by vaccines. What about polio? Remember that deadly disease that killed thousands of young children every year? You don't, because ever since vaccines eradicated polio, there have been ZERO cases and ZERO deaths.

You know what else has happened? Well, there are these vaccine all children are supposed to get. They protect against little diseases such as whooping cough and polio. Numbers of those affected have declined exponentially since the introduction of vaccines, but you know what has happened in recent years due to large numbers of parents refusing to vaccinate their children? There has been a resurgence in diseases. Since 2010, there have been between 10,000 and 50,000 cases of whooping cough each year in the United States and about 10 to 20 babies, many of which were too young to be fully vaccinated, died each year. While some babies are too young to be protected by vaccination, others may not be able to receive certain vaccinations due to severe allergies, weakened immune systems from conditions like leukaemia, or other reasons.

That brings me onto that point. In case you want to use your pathetic argument that children can just have a week off school recovering from measles, THAT IS NOT HOW IT WORKS. There are large numbers of children WHO DIE FROM THESE DISEASES. And you know what? They're often those children who cannot have vaccinations due to health problems. There's this thing called 'herd immunity'. It's what protects an entire society from a disease, because the greater the proportion of people who are vaccinated, the less likely a disease is spread. By not vaccinating your children, you are not only putting their lives at risk, but also everyone they come into contact with who are physically unable to get the vaccine.

If that's not enough, if you are selfish enough to think that your own ideas about the dangers of vaccines are enough to justify not vaccinating your children, and therefore risking the spread of disease to at-risk children, let me remind you that many vaccinations prevent deadly diseases, such as meningitis.

Just look at yourself.

What's the statistic today? Well, lt's put it like this. In fucked up countries like siera leone the statistics is 14% before the age of 5, and that's from ALL sources. In western worlds it's at 0,5% or LOWER! Norway got 0,2-0,3%!!!

Obviously, You don't understand how a vaccine works. Your immune system knows each and every cell of the body. So if any foreign cell enters the system, the immune cells destroy it, but keeps a memory of the cell. So, if there is a second instance, the immune system will be ready to take counter measures.

There are basically 2 types of vaccines - Live attenuated and Killed vaccines. Live vaccines are genetically altered live viruses. They CANNOT cause the disease. But the morphology is similar. So after the vaccine is given, even if there is an attack of a virulent virus, the system recognizes the morphology and eliminates the virus. This is the most effective form of vaccination, a few doses can give lifelong immunity. The disadvantages are, as the virus is alive, it can cause disease if it MUTATES, or if there was some error done by the manufacturing agency in altering the virus, or the cold chain (storage and transport of vaccines) is broken and secondary swarm of bacteria had developed in the vaccine.

Killed vaccines contain organisms killed by heat, chemicals or radiation. They CANNOT cause disease by any means. But they are less effective. Hence they need booster doses.

Fever, Redness, Swelling and pain are the cardinal signs of inflammation. They are not diseases. They are indicators that your immune system is activated and is fighting a pathogen. They are not side effects of the vaccination.

There is another thing - anaphylaxis. Some people may be allergic to the preservatives or medium added to the vaccine, causing anaphylaxis which has nothing to do with the vaccine.

And the person receiving vaccination should not be in any kind of immunocompromised state. (HIV / Cancer therapy)

The bottom-line is A STANDARD VACCINE IS COMPLETELY SAFE AND DOESN'T CAUSE DISEASE, RATHER HELPS PREVENT THE INCIDENCE OF THE DISEASE OR REDUCE THE SEVERITY.

A faulty vaccine is gonna cause problems, just like any other thing that's faulty, from a light switch to an aeroplane. :)

Yes, I would definitely support vaccination, and recommend it to others. So far only one disease, smallpox, has been eradicated by vaccines, saving approximately 5 million lives annually. Polio could be next. Over 80% of the world's children are now being immunized against the polio virus, and the annual number of cases has been cut from 400,000 in 1980 to 90,000 in the mid-1990s.

Sorry but I come from a family of doctors and nurses and yeah they think the anti-vaccination thing is idiotic. People just have bad genetics but instead of admitting that they will point a finger at whatever the hell they can instead. If I have kids they are absolutely getting vaccinated. The odds of it saving your life are greater than it destroying you. I have diabetes in my family tree. We had a detergent can blow up and poison our air in the house while we we're on vacation. My mother got breast cancer then I was diagnosed with diabetes then my brother who was 7 years older than me was diagnosed with diabetes all within a year of it going off. It didn't give me diabetes it was already in me it just triggered it earlier than it would have happened. That is at worst what vaccines can do. It triggers some illness that you had earlier than when you might have gotten it. Vaccines don't just make diseases get created inside of you. I don't know a single medical professional who thinks not doing vaccines is a good idea.

I am not anti vaccination.
The autism supposedly caused by it is because of the mercury occasionally used in the injection. However, the amount of mercury in the vaccine is so small that the dosage isn't high enough to do damage. More mercury is found in some fish and other foods, so even if it did cause autism, food would cause it more.

Proper vaccines inject damaged, inactive or dead versions of the pathogens so they cause no damage to the body at all, making the body react to it accordingly (causing some minor symptoms and sometimes sickness but nothing too major. Like a cold.)

Like all treatments and all things, it can be harmful as each individual is different and vaccines are standardised. I admit that people die of vaccines, but compared to the people saved it's overall a life saver by far.

This mytake was a good read and thank you for posting it however I feel it was built with the misinterpretation that we inject people with a normal version of a pathogen, which isn't the case. It's normally dead or inactive (doesn't do anything) and is used to trick our immune systems into preparing for the real thing.

Vacinations are utterly necessary and essential to the health of the human population as a whole! If one person doesn't get a vaccination against something they can create a whole new strain of that disease that is immune to the vaccination. Vaccinations may not be perfect but they are our best shot at preventing disease within our societies! Or else why would people be so set on getting them? The odds of a vaccine saving your life greatly out number the odds of it taking your life !

Cowpox was definitely proven to have worked as a vaccination for smallpox! The kids who had gotten cowpox innoculations were later injected with smallpox and did not come down with the disease.
