I'm a big sports fan and obviously anxious for the world cup. I will be watching and hoping for my favorites to go far, Mexico, USA and Spain.

I'm definitely excited, but not as excited as I would've been around a year ago. Since Fox Soccer Channel has been taken off the air, my following and interest of the game has declined. i TRY to keep up w/ standings and transfers, but it's just too hard w/ the time difference, lack of access, etc.

Luckily the WC will be in the Western Hemisphere, so the match times should fit my schedule more.

Btw, did you know no Eastern Hemisphere country has ever won a WC when it's hosted in the Western Hemisphere? If there's any year to break that, its this year. Brazil and Argentina don't look strong enough to win compared to some Euro teams, but I guess you never know. Uruguay may have a legit shot. Mexico and Chile can compete, but no way they have the class to win it all.

Joking, I'm also excited even though it's in Brazil... It usually sucks whenever they try to take the cup to far away countries, not to mention other issues. I hope the games will be fair and people just enjoy themselves.

Their my favorites, I know they won't win, doesn't mean I can't cheer them on. I'm not bandwagoning it like half the dumbasses who have no clue. Yeah that's true but Brazil is promising a great World Cup, but they have deep issues with their own people, so sad.

Yes World Cups are interesting to watch. Good teams, always. I support Spain too.

But this year there has been too much protests in Brazil. Just because of the soccer, I don't think it is a good idea to torture people living there.

Yeah I love the game too but on the other side the country is suffering and more importantly the people.

I'm more afraid that one or another stadium would literally fail... hope the materials they used and the quality of the work is thrustworthy, in a country with "some" corrupt individuals.
As far as the sports side of the story is concerned, I hope the Belgian team will survive the first round. This would be a realistic end result I think.
