Honestly, if I learned of someone that they don't wash their bum after #2, then if they'd be unwilling to change this, I would not be willing to sleep in the same bed as them, in fact, I'd probably consider it an absolute immediate dealbreaker for being disgusting. Sorry!

So what do you think about the (lack of) shower/bidet usage? Do you use bidets, showers, moist toilet paper? Or do you think this is just rambling, and people are meant to have poopfragments in their panties? (yes I am biased against this opinion, I know)

My personal stance on this is I would vote B), and that I don't want any fragment of poop inside my clothing. You can pretty obviously smell it in a closed setting if you don't wash yourself properly... so I'd rather not take chances.

Mmhh which part of the world are you? I know that most islamic countries/muslim people wash there butts, but in my experience its also more easier to do so because most toilets (including public toilets) have a water hose, or a special toilet that sprays water into your ass hahaha. Western world the majority just use toilet paper I suppose and I never ever had the problem of someone smelling like poop after using the toilet (even when only wearing shorts) and I'm quite sensitive to bad smells... So I don't know your experience :P

Hygenic wise mmhh I think actually a combination of both is better, Not quite sure how some people wash their ass immediatly after they are done pooping, but that hand that you used inside your butt crack after just pooping... its not a hand that I would like to touch (even if you wash it after!) Well I shower daily, I don't eat with my asshole. I feel fine with that. Do you wash after you change your tampon also? Or do you sit in a bloody rag? Where do you wash your bottom in public? Do you wash after you pee? Do you wash with 2 different items at home one rag for you face and one for you bottom? I bet people who don't wear underwear are the worst thing to deal with. I have been overseas and used the toilets with a little hose and sprayer. But when I flushed the water from the toilet did spray a bit on the cleaning sprayer. So now I'm confused, it's supposed to be sanitary but there's dirty water on it and other people's dirt on it. That was kinda gross.

Taking a shower each time would be a pain. I tend to go more then the average person, so I'd be taking several showers each day, not counting my normal morning and evening showers. That also can't work considering school and things I do after school away from home. It would be impossible for me to shower every time, and moist wipes have popped opened in my bag before, ruining everything in my bag (Phone, homework, my sketchbook along with 4 years worth of art, etc, ruined) so I'd prefer not to carry wipes in my bag anymore.

I think it is overkill to wash it so intensely, nor do I think it is good for the skin. If you shower once before bed, or before sex. I guess that is good enough of hygiene.

I mean honestly, who has the time to jump in the shower after they shit? And in the US very few toilets come with a bidet and most don't care to buy one.

I think you have an issue with runny feces, then. Usually mine a dry, if not, I wipe 1-2 times and there's nothing left. If wiping alone doesn't remove the residue maybe you just have runny ones. I'm my sure about other people, but I don't have that problem so I never need to use wet wipes or shower.

I live in an apartment with 4 people of which 2 don't, and I've had heated arguments about it before, as some people were trying to convince that it's 'more unhygienic to wash your bum than to just let it dry in your pants', and I was severely disgusted. I've also heard people be in complete dismay over how "there are people who wash their bum after each time they poop, don't you find it silly too?" and I was like, uhhh... right. Also in places like university restrooms, you don't have the option, so you either use moist paper or you suffer. Or you do some haxory magic by grabbing some dry TP and put it under the sink and then take it in with you and use that as "moist paper" but I must admit that would have been a problematic if there had been more people around.

The US doesn't really have bidets but it's possible to use like a small jug or watering can to pour water (while on the toilet)...I wouldn't use the shower so as to keep the bathtub uncontaminated. It's also possible to install a bidet in your toilet, several of my friends have them.

I don't really count moist tp as washing. I only use moist tp if washing is not a possible alternative. Even then, it bugs me and the moment I get access to a shower aka I get home, I use it asap. Moist TP is still a level above just using dry TP, but still a level below actually washing your ass, if that makes sense.

I still don't see why people don't use moist toilet paper more often. Well the government in the USA does not have a sink or soap in the men's bathroom stall to be able to do that. If you carry wet ones with you Its still not soap and it has alcohol in the wipes, plus that clogs the drain when you flush the toilet and then it can over flow. I never allow my ass to become creamy with poopy stains in it. I wipe my ass 100 percent clean.

Education is being regularized to support the right wing as we speak, and there are sinks for washing your hands in the public toilets in a separate area, the public toilets themselves have only dry toilet paper, which kinda sucks. At work, what I would do is moisten the dry toilet paper with the sink, because there are only two toilets, both have a sink in them, and you can lock the door. And essentially use enough "moist" more like 'wet' toilet paper that it would seem perfectly OK.
