My dad is retiring so I'm kicked off his health care... now what? Obama care?

This is a scary feeling, even though I take good care of my health... What if something terrible happens... then what? Will I get really shitty government health care, and have to wait in a huge line just to get crappy medical care? It is scary... I feel like I rather go to the doctor in Mexico than deal with the U. S. and their government provided health care... how bad is it really? I know I could just get a job that provides health care... but my heart wants to create art at this time in my life and that's all I can commit to.. I am considering moving to Italy because I am also a citizen there, I wonder if the government health care is better there?

I should be able to get medicaid. I wonder how bad the service is compared to what I would get with my dad's insurance? Many people are telling me just get a job that provides health care... so that must mean medicaid sucks?

uhmm either get obama care or get a job with benefits because when your sick as hell and can't do art your gonna wish you had insurance for that expensive doctors and hospital visit... im on my dads insurance till im 25 im 22 im gonna take a xray tech program because i know ill get benefits from working at the hospital etc

you can do what you still, just do it on the side, but you need to start making a living of your own off a job with benefits, dont you want your kids to have benefits as well? dont raise a kid off of obama care and medical

well I don't want to have kids. I am wondering why isn't good? long wait times, not the same doctor everytime, inexperienced doctors? what are some examples of why it is worse?

well it doesn't cover things such as dermatology , for me thats a problem because i have to go for my mild acne... and also yes the waits are long , my mom goes to the doctor and it takes her 4 hours to get out... long lines... also obama care doesn't provide great cover of pharmacy meds... my insurance i only have to pay 10 percent of the medicine price...

that is interesting and helpful, thanks for your comment. I really just want it for emergencies. Waiting long I can deal with for check ups, but not emergencies. I did not know it didn't cover things like dermatology, I will have to look into what else it doesn't cover and if I really need those things or can cope without.

I agree with this and I plan to get a job, but the thing is I can't commit to a job because my passion is also to travel. I take very good care of my health, I really only need medical care for random emergencies that may happen... so that I don't get stuck in a ton of debt...

Obama-care is not a type of insurance, it is a bill that regulates insurance. So you can't really "get" Obama-care.

No. That's all propaganda. I grew up on a private provider for years and had good relationships with my providers. I still have good relationships with them now on Title 19 and its post-Obamacare expansion.

that puts my mind at ease.. I rarely go to the doctor, and take really good care of my health, but if a bad accident happened like I broke my leg I would want to get it taken care of properly, by skilled and experienced doctors.
