So, even with 6K+ infected cases, why is there a big fuss about it?
Common flue makes more deaths every year..
Ebola is a very brutal, strategic and unforgiving virus. It starts by strategically attacking vital components of the immune system in crucial areas. Then, it ruthlessly attacks everything in sight, causing hemorrhaging at a scale no other infectious disease could possibly match. In many cases, the blood even starts leaking out the pores in the late stages. It's also an RNA-based filovirus, which allows it to replicate at an even faster rate than other viruses. In addition to it having no cure of mass-produced treatment, the rapid replication of the virus and the rate at which it's currently spreading make the possibility of the virus mutating into an airborne strain a possibility- which would make the virus even more problematic across the world. We also don't know who its natural [animal] host is, so it's impossible to contain an outbreak before it happens if patient zero ends up in a populated environment while symptomatic. The current strain, Ebola Zaire, was the first form of ebola to be discovered and the second of the filoviruses to be identified. It is also the most lethal. The fact that it only has a 50-60% mortality rate in this epidemic is nothing short of a miracle. So yes, this outbreak is extremely serious.
The hype is the prognoses if continues as has so far, the projections say about 1.000.000 infected around new year, with a death rate of 90% of all infected - it's could turn out to be the greatest plague for the last 100 years.
Do not under estimate viruses, should it ever muted to become airborne, then say welcome to the new stone age of mankind, the puny rest of mankind that survives that is.
6 000 cases does not seems to be a big deal, besides, it's not even global, it's concentred on a part of the world.
Well... this disease spreads and will kill more people. This will kill more people.. which will kill more people... and then more people and then it goes on and on and on... remember.. it only takes 1 person to bring it into a country and to then spread it some more for you.
so yes.. it's worth the fuss...
I think treat both. Ebola is harder to treat while with the flu anyone can go to like Walgreen's and get a shot to help them out. Ebola is harder though. Yes it's cured in people but not everyone can get a lot of treatment

pretty much the same mass hysteria that has accompanied aids and other viral infections. public health officials do everything they can do to prevent a widespread outbreak, called a pandemic, and succeed at it while investigating ways to tame the symptoms. these diseases are considered incurable, but science basically finds a way for people to live with them.
disgustingly, money often plays a savage role. over a decade ago abc actually broadcast a news feature reporting the first signs of a new flu that was incurable and which was headed across the globe. there was such a flu incipient somewhere, and as usual it was reported to be in a third world nation where sanitation was below par. of course, there was also scuttlebutt about a group of scientists who thought they might, just might be onto a possible cure, a pre-season injectable the were calling 'tamiflu'. as could have been expected, naturally no outbreak occurred and why? this tamiflu shit actually worked, which the media, laboratories around the world, and the fda all knew it would in the first place. these entities got filthy rich while the rest of us just got fucked.
I think this is super scary. No real cure and very high death rate. I am sure the numbers are way higher than what is reported to keep the rest of world calm. The number of professionals there is insufficient anyway for proper containment and reporting.

Two ebola victims came back from the dead... yeah we shouldn't worry about it...
its killing too many people and still has no treatment... and you wonder why there's such a fuss about it?
There are a lot of diseases that has no treatment too. Like I said, to put things in perspective, 3 090+ is ridiculously low
but its more dangerous and spreads like crazy
Spread like crazy? we are talking about back from mars 2014, 7 months backwards. that doesn't look like a pandemic explosion with crazy spread
It's all a conspiracy to get rid of the growing population. I mean they got in under wraps in the early 70s or something.. how did it get out again?
please do elaborate
You know how there isn't going to be much resources in the near future.. nations are going to start fighting against each other to control whats left. It's always been on my mind, that the governments will conspire to get rid of most of us slowly and in subtle ways that wouldn't bring about much questioning like for example the Ebola virus we have going on now. Like what someone else said.. one person is enough to spread the disease to a whole nation. they eradicated it before Unless someone released it purposely now?
I'm just saying.. no need to panic people haha
quite a big conspiracy plot you got here.
Biological warfare is a threat since it was invented, yet not seen in action.
Take into consideration that it was almost eradicated before and in the last months it's exploded.
I think it's because it seemed like coming out of nowhere, which it really didn't.
If those 3000+ had white skin instead of black skin than it would be more important.
