How long will it take for Pepcid to treat my stomach ulcer?

I got an endoscopy done today, and it turns out that I have a ulcer. I started taking Pepcid even before I got the testing done, and it helps with the pain but it comes back the next night.
I have a few pills left. By the time I finish them, should I expect it to be gone? I have to take them for two weeks.

I understand once you have a ulcer it heals up but lays dormant
according to relatives who had stomach ulcers had to stay away
from what ever is causing the ulcer and /or take preventive medications
such as Pepcid, Zantac, Tagment .. My aunt eats something she
shouldn't her ulcer acts up so you may want just stay on Pepcid
as long as your taking the Nsaids

Your Ulcer never gets cured but the medication should be used to
help you feel better but like i told you about relatives who have ulcers

Too many NSAIDs caused it but I need them for my headaches.

Yeah well you will have to stay on preventive medication
with your ulcer.. it might get worse if not treated i believe
stomach ulcers can turn into cancer if left untreated

Hello there. If you have an ulcer that caused by H. Pylori, then you need to be taking 2 antibiotics PLUS pepcid. This is according to the treatment guidelines in my country anyway. Could take a few weeks.

Well the doctor who did it took a sample to see if it was caused by H. Pylori, but I won't know until Monday.
In the meantime, I'm going to keep taking the Pepcid, and when I run out, I can pick up the Prilosec.

OTC stuff just deals with the symptoms. Prescription stuff would deal with the cause of the ulcer (as mentioned by @DoctorFeelgood).

Well I was taking a lot of NSAID'S because of headaches, leg pain, neck pain, and back pain.

Well, as soon as you cut those out the ulcer should go away, if you don't, it'll just keep reoccurring.

Then you need to go see your doctor so he can give you a different type of pain medication, and tell him you have an ulcer because of NSAID's, so you can't take them, but need something to replace them.

Pepcid is an OTC antacid and will likely never cure an ulcer.
If you have been diagnosed with a ulcer by a physician and test positive for the presence of H. Pylori bacteria, talk to him about a prescription for Prevpac.

It even says on the leaflet that Pepcid will treat an ulcer. The same for Prilosec.
My friend takes Prilosec, and she said it treats ulcers.

Now I'm confused.
