Treadmill and weights.
However, do whatever floats on your boat. I am sort of exercise freak so I do all kind of workouts in alternate manner.
It's also important to increase intensity of workouts or do new workouts after a certain period. If you don't do that, your body will get used to that workout and will do it by spending lesser calories

Elliptical + weight training, in my opinion.

Treadmill can cause damage to your knees in the long-run, better to use the elliptical. That's just cardio though. Weight-training helps with toning up. And of course, an appropriate diet.

diet is more important than anything. it's like 90% diet 10% exercise. you can work out to your hearts content but if you are eating fast food daily or pizza and fried foods and stuff you won't do anything but add a little muscle and loose no fat so you will gain weight

Is coffee bad for my diet? I love coffee way too much to just completely stop drinking it. Life's too short for that lol

it's clearly not good for it but it can be done in a way that works. starbucks? bad for your diet. coffee filled with sugar? bad for it. coffee with light or no sugar while not good it can easily be offset. sodas (even diet) will kill it. im doing a light work out and i cut out most breads and all sodas and sugary drinks and im losing weight and fat off that. that in and of it's self will probably cause you to loose weight. add in more work outs and you can start burning fat relatively quickly

try to avoid machines if you can and just run outside. look up HIIT.

I'm have a busy and hectic schedule that includes children. Plus I don't really like the cold, so I'm not running in the cold.

elliptical will better suit the task then. unless you can run uphill on a treadmill.

Eliptical will get you an overall better total body workout, treadmill will give you a better workout on your legs.
