If I cough up mucus do I have the flu, the cold or bronchitis?

I was coughing up mucus today. What sickness do I have? I don't have a sore throat or anything so I don't think it's bronchitis but the only websites that reference coughing up mucus online are sites referencing brochitis.

It really depends. The mucus could be dripping from your nose, down your throat. Or it could be your lungs. If your chest is where you feel your cough comes from then it may be bronchitis. If you are running a fever, it may be the flu. If your nose is running it may be a cold.

You may not even be sick it could just be allergies. I got bronchitis and mucus wasn't the problem it was dry coughing.
