Suggestions on what to do when you have a dry scalp but oily hair, what can I do to fix these issues?

So if I wash my hair my scalp gets really dry and itchy and if I use coconut oil to lubricate my scalp my hair looks really greasy. Anything I can do? or am I shit out of luck?

My shampoo is SLS free and I was my hair like 3 or 4 days a week, I work out a lot so if I don't it looks rugged lol

It's expensive, but I use Kerastase Bain Exfoliante Hydrante. It's seriously amazing, it exfoliates the dandruff and itchy stuff from your scalp, but it's SO good for your hair and will keep it from getting oily. My boyfriend has similar problems as you and he uses it as well. You can order it online or find a salon that carries it. Next time you get a haircut ask the stylist if they sell Kerastase and if they don't ask if they know where you can find it.

Please dont use oil on your scalp.
Shampoo it like once a day and avoid conditioner on your scalp.
Find a scalp treatment shampoo, some shampoo including those meant for oily hair will aggravate the hair condition.
BEfore you go to bed every night, u have to make sure your hair is dry. Wet scalp can cause itchiness.

Sometimes it gets worse before it gets better. Same principle as cortisone.

your shampoo probally has sodium lauryl sulfate that strips the hair of its natural oils. Your using too much oil. well switch to a sgampoo that dosent have sulfates or parabens. then use the oil.
