Do you lick your fingers to change a page? are you grossed out by others who do?

Question

it grosses me out, especially when the page/papers belong to something I own or that is being given to me.

a woman did this repeatedly today to some papers I had to take with me. I really badly wanted to ask her to PLEASE STOP!! :0 but was afraid I'd offend her and she might screw my stuff up (I get paranoid with others sometimes). I mean seriously, I have no idea where that womans mouth has been. I don't don't to touch my papers with her slobber all over them. Ugh!!

I wouldn't say it grosses me out when others do it, but when I need to flip a page or open a bag or something and I just can't do it and run into that dilemma of whether or not I want to lick my own finger to do so and then I am already convinced it's going to taste bad even if I just washed my hands.

Yet I can put my fingers in my mouth to pick a piece of food out of my teeth or whatever and oh god I'm awkward.

Gross as hell.

The only time I'm ever tempted to do something similar is when i actually take out the garbage in my house, and i'm trying to put new garbage bags in the bathrooms, and i can't get them to open up. but i moisten my fingers in the sink instead. And that's for the garbage! not a book or some papers i'm about to give someone.

I'm a huge germaphobe, I never have and never will lick my finger when changing a page. My sister was doing that earlier, and it annoyed me haha. I'm not grossed out by, I just think it's unnecessary.

I had a teacher in high school with some smelly breath who used to do this licking of the finger or licking the page... ugh. One time the top of the paper was wet and I swore to never use that finger until it was dissenfected. Never understood it really. Just use a wet sponge. Why expose everyone of your germs?

It doesn't gross me out but I don't really feel the need to do it. The same way people lick their fingers to open carrier bags. Just open them like a normal person, or if you can't, just rub your hands together with the bag between your hands.

one teacher does this and i sit in the front row. there is a wet finger mark on the first three pages that i pass back to some unlucky sucker.

I only do that if I'm at the shop, and I need to get a plastic bag. They're all molded together so that's kinda the only way. Shops usually have this wet fabric thing built in the counter they put their index finger on it to open the bags. But, this was Sainsbury's self check out, they don't have one lmao..
