Yes I find it rude I know a few people who do that and also have there phone setup so they can read most messages in the notifications so they don't have to open it so u don't know they left u on read but just knowing they done it to someone els makes it worse becuse now ur 2nd guessing every message u send them now I do have a few friends who are really busy a lot of times and are bad about getting interrupted and forgetting to respond but are open about it and admitted to it and said hay u may have to remind me sometimes And don't feel like it's a bother like don't feel like ur blowing me up becuse some times thats what it will take basically telling me they want me to blow them up till they answer lol
Yes, someone avoiding responding to me is EXTREMELY irritating!
@OlderAndWiser On The Same Page with Our Rage. lolxxoo

Not really. I don't always have time to reply immediately so I'm probably "guilty" of it myself.
But then cell phones didn't exist in the time before when Gen-X was young. We were thrown out at 9am Saturday morning and expected home when the street light came on.
The day my brother died my parents had to find me before we could go to the hospital and identify him. There's good and bad to being instantly locatable.
All things considered, the negative impact of cell phones outweigh the positives massively.
No. I don’t think like that.
i just call if we are close. Close friends/family are not worth these games…the calls always clear up things. This includes my ex hubby and my daughter…she sometimes gets frastrated with texting daddy… I just told her…dad…I’m calling … or dad call me when you are done with work … he does and she has the biggest smile after talking to daddy.
no need to second guess.
There are a few folks that send the quote "read receipts", they are family members in close friends. I think we've had a few contractors that also had that set up for messaging on their phones. I don't generally get upset about it. It just lets me know that they've seen my message which is the important aspect.
My mom has that feature enabled on her phone, when she reads it. She always replies. I guess I'll see what it's like when our kids have cell phones.
Not really. I try not to be so dependent on technology in that way. It just seems petty. I assume they are busy and will text me back when they can. What if they are driving? Got a call from their parents? Are having a tiny emergency or even just checking their mail. I don’t always respond right away to texts and I generally don’t mind when other people are the same what
First…I turn that setting off. No one will ever know if I read their text or not, bitches.
Second, only thing that bugs me are spam texters, those who put each sentence into a separate text. We got fucks like that here on gag. I think they think it makes them more right or something.
I am not the right person to ask, there are exactly only 4-5 people I answer on time. Everybody else knows my tendency to answer late and thankfully, they still love me… I am very grateful for that.
The point of a text is I reply when I get around to it. Just because I read it doesn't mean I have time to reply. What if I read it while driving or in a meeting? If it was important she would have called. If she's impatient she can leave.
Ahhhh, Male Ego, @BoopBoopBeep xx
Nope... I always give her the same courtesy. She responds when she responds. May be the next day... whatever. If it's something like "the water is running and there's a flood" then I wouldn't be texting in the first place. There's life outside of the other person. That's how the mortgage gets paid.
I currently have 4 people on my phone who have not responded to yesterday's text. Doesn't bother me in the least.
No, I dont think it’s rude, they might be busy, or got other priorities, or maybe the question is a bit sensitive one.
I wouldn’t persist on it. I would just leave the conversation on read as they did, they’ll answer whenever they wish.
Some men I talk to are like that :D
I am somehow used to it. If something is important to me, I will find a way to talk about it sooner or later :D
all the women I talk with are quite considerate about all the messages we send to each other... For me only men show such behavior :D
But I don't comply, it's a game :D
Unspoken psychic messages should do the trick 😊
@MiddleAgedClimbee or spells... I'm thinking of using them :P
That makes perfect sense :-). Perhaps in the background of the spell, "I put a spell on you" could be playing?
@MiddleAgedClimbee lol :D yeah I can definitely use that :D
I dont mind it anymore. I just make sure to do it back to them when the situation occurs or when I dont feel like responding. Tit for tat as they say.
We've started doing that to my kids. They get annoyed now. Lol
Extremely.. it literally takes like 5 seconds to reply to something, even if you're busy.. just text "I'm busy, talk soon.. not that hard.
If it's something serious or if they do it chronically then yes it would be rude. There's no excuse for bad communication when it's so easy to connect with people nowadays.
I never have that problem because I actually talk to people.
Yes I do. But I assume that they're busy or that they forgot to reply.
No, I just assume they are busy. I'm horrible about replying to messages and assume the same of everyone else.
No. Just send them a smoke signal like old days and forget about text/ so ial
It is OK. Sometimes they can't reply right away, and intend to get back to you later.
Not really. I’m old enough to know (and sometimes be one) people who are actually busy and not glued to their phones.
I try to respond to every message, but sometimes people send me stuff and it is like, "wtf? How am I supposed to respond to that?" Usually it is a dissertation on crypto.
My daughter and son does that. When we ask them something that they don't want to answer, they ignore the question
Yes it definitely is. It's annoying and we tell them that.
But that's just it, my kids don't lie to us. They both know how we feel about lying. They have never lied to us ever.
I do exactly that to my sister because she sends annoying texts
Rather that be rude to her
I ignore them
The occasional sensible text she sends, i reply to
That’s why it’s good to turn off read receipts.
Water off a ducks back. Better not to pine over one message string
I don't have time to deal with social AI garbage.
Nope there probably just busy they'll get back to you when they can
What dod you mean by that
guess im lucky even the people ignoring me can't ignore me
It can be annoying
No. I do this all the time anyways LOL.
nope I dont bother with it at all
Of course that’s extremely rude
Not necessarily. I just assume they’re busy.
Yep.
Lol.
