Can you od from over the counter anxiety medicine?

My friend is suicidal, she has depression and anxiety.

I looked in her backpack as I always do because she has attempted suicide before and I watch out for her. In her backpack I saw a bunch of Over The Counter anxiety medicine. More then a person needs.

Can you OD from over the counter anxiety medicine?

You can OD from any medication. Peolpe OD from prescription meds more than drugs. Is she showing any signs of sucide? Does she talk about it, harm herself in any way? Try to talk with her and see what she says about the medicine. If she gives off any warning signs then get help. Talk to an adult that takes care of her or a teacher. They can act perfectly fine then something can set off and then she my try to take her life. When you speak to her just ask how is everything going? Do not mention sucide, let her open up to you. Your a fantastic friend to watch over her. I hope everything works out.

We Both have depression and anxiety, and I use to cut, she still does. I have better coping skills then her. We went threw therapy and prescribed meds, I am doing better then her and we talk about Everything together. At this point I think she thinks its not getting better.

If I lose her I don't know what I will do.

It depends on the medications she had. Xanax is used for anxiety and you can overdose on it very easily. While with Zoloft and Prozac (I believe) it just causes a lot of hormonal problems and chemical imbalances if you take too much.

You sure she just didn't have a 90 day prescription? Technically you can OD on just about anything, but it wouldn't be fun.

She has prescribed meds like me for depression and anxiety, this is over the counter and it would be enough for months for like 8 people.

Thought I replied. So yeah, the odds of her ODing would be extremely limited because OTC meds are a fraction of what Rx ones are, so not only would she need to take A LOT, and I mean a lot compared to get the same effect prescriptions would give, the odds of her body being able to hold it down are very slim. Doesn't mean it wouldn't screw up her organs, but she would not die from them.

Back to her, I wouldn't bring it up, but I would just reinstate the fact that if she ever needs to talk about anything, good or bad, you'll be there for her.

Generally it's hard to OD on otc shit. BUT you can cause permanent organ damage and what not.

Over the counter anxiety shit is usually herbal mumbo jumbo that doesn't really do shit. Still, it's never a good idea to take a whole bottle of anything.

Yes- I'm pretty sure you can OD on all medication- even vitamins, perscription medication though is even easier to do so since usually with prescriptions they are already almost as high as you can go without ODing/even higher than the average amount of regular medicine.
